Great design and…great sideburns! Zhao may not have any known descendents, but his sideburns certainly did! ;)
So, here’s my headcanon:
After Zhao was “killed” by Koi-zilla in the finale of Season 1, Rufftoon’s fan comic about him washing up and becoming an amnesiac adopted member of the water tribe happened. Then, someone from the production team of Korra said “Why the heck not?” and made Water Tribers who were distant, distant descendants of his, bearing his trademark sideburns.
So now according to my headcanon, Rufftoon’s fan comic is also canon. And I’m barely stretching, barely at all.
Ha ha! I have perverted the fandom!! XD
